Friday Evening
Errants Tournament
We’re so excited to announce that our friends at Knight’s Errant will be hosting the Errants Tourney, Friday evening at the 2019 Siege of Imladris!
What is the Errants Tourney? The Errants Tourney is designed for the best of the best in fighting kits. A display of pageantry largely unseen in standard tournaments.
Combatants will be paraded in front of the crowd, announced by their personal herald in front of the lords and ladies, and are asked to bring one gift to be awarded to the victor of the tournament.

Entry Rules
-
Helmet’s are required and must protect the top of the head.
-
Torso armor is required and must protect the chest and sides of the torso.
-
A latex/latex-style weapon of any style. Latex or plastidipped shields will be required for those who use a shield. Decorum cloth covering on the face of the shield is permitted.
-
One gift to be presented to the winner of the tournament. Ex. weapons, banners, jewelry, chalice/feastware, etc.
-
A group of followers to bare your gifts and help you on the sidelines to support you. A personal herald (frontman) is required to announce you during the procession.

Combat Rules
-
Accepted weapons are single handed weapons and longswords. Polearms will be approached on a case by case basis by the leads to insure safety of the participants.
-
Weapons all do 1 point of damage to the location which they struck.
-
Weapon strikes to any location but the face, neck, and groin are permitted and count as damage.
-
The only strikes to the head allowed are strikes to the crown (above the ears, what a skullcap would cover)
-
Strikes to an unarmored limb render that limb immobile and you must drop whatever is in that hand if struck in the arm, and kneel or stay planted if struck in the leg.
-
Any combination of two limbs, or a strike to the unarmored torso or "unarmored" head will result in a defeat of the combatant struck.
-
Shield kicking, bashing, striking (below the neck), and controlled grappling are permitted but do no damage.
-
For a strike to be valid, it must be of sufficient force as directed by your opponent and the Marshal of the List.
"Is armor worth extra hits?"
Yes. Armour values are as follows;
-
Leather - protects from one strike to a location
-
Chain - protects from two strikes to a location
-
Plate - protects from three strikes to a location
-
PLASTIC/ALUMINUM ARMOUR IS NOT PERMITTED.
-
Layering of armour is permitted on the basis of aesthetics, but offers no compound value to the wearer.

Warlord Sports Style:
For the Warlord Sports style format, each category will begin with a pit phase, wherein multiple “bear-pit” style fighting rings are set up and played winner-stays. The number of pits will be determined based on number of registered fighters and availability of heralds. Players will line up in front of each pit, and two players will enter the ring and fight.
The results will go as follows:
-
The winner of each fight will stay, and the loser must exit the pit immediately.
-
The winner will relay their number to the appropriate herald in their pit, who will record it with tallies.
-
In the event of a simultaneous kill, both fighters must exit the pit and neither receives points.
-
Players who are eliminated are free to move to the end of any line they see fit.
Each pit phase will run for 10-15 minutes (time to be determined)
Following each pit phase, heralds from each pit will tally up the total number of wins of each fighter. The top 8 fighters will be seeded into a single-elimination bracket phase, with matches being best-of-three fights.
Point Breakdown:
-
4 points for every first place win
-
2 points for every second place win
-
1 point for every third place win
-
All others who are seeded in the top 8 but do not place top 3 will receive 0.5 points

These numbers will be totaled across all 5 categories to determine the overall tournament winner!
